Symbolism of Nuts

Woman claims the Rebbe appeared to her in a dream and told her "egozim" (nuts) and asks for an explanation.
The Rebbe at first responds that since he is standing there in real life they can talk directly without dreams, but then goes on to explain the meaning of the nuts.
Just like the fruit of the nut is hidden within a thick shell and contains the seeds that can produce many more trees, so too the Jewish people whose bodies are similar to the bodies of all other people contain a soul that produces fruit.
